1. What device do I have to use?

A computer (desktop or laptop) with an integrated or external webcam is the bare minimum you need. In addition, you will also require a stable internet connection, a headset with an attached microphone.

2. Can I freely choose the materials other than LetTutor's material?

Yes, you can. You can choose the most suitable materials according to different student’s study and requirement level. However, for the students between the ages of 5 and 12 years old, you are required to use materials from LetTutor.

3. Am I required to work for a certain number of hours?

No. There is no minimum or maximum working hours requirement at LetTutor in a day, a week or a month. As mentioned above, LetTutor offers flexible working hours so that you can freely adjust and manage your teaching schedule.

4. Do I need to speak in a specific accent?

LetTutor advises you to teach your accent, whether you are a native or non-native speaker. Inform your students that there are many different English accents spoken across the world. You will introduce them to some of them through the course materials, the internet, and movies. They may also try them out for themselves. Be comfortable while you are speaking, which builds your confidence and provides sufficient knowledge transmission.

5. Am I required to give students homework?

No. You can freely decide whether to give the homework to students or not. However, the tutor is recommended to give students homework since the completion of homework enables the tutor to assess how well their students have absorbed the teachings and prepare for the new lessons.

6. Who can I contact if I want to cancel the class?

If you want to cancel the class, please inform the support team (also called as CS Team) at least 2 hours before class time. In the case of force majeure, you must contact the CS Team at least 30 minutes. In addition, if you want to take more than 2 days off, you are required to inform the CS Team at least 2 days before. Furthermore, if you want to change the fixed teaching schedules, must inform the CS Team at least 3 days.

7. What should I do if I have an emergency when it is almost time for class?

If you have an emergency when it is almost time for class, you must contact the CS Team as soon as possible, at least 30 minutes. In addition, you are accepted class cancellation due to force majeure 3 times per month at maximum.

8. What should I do if the student does not attend the class?

In the case of any student who does not attend the class, the tutor is required to wait at least 2 minutes. Subsequently, the tutor must contact the CS Team to report the situation.

9. How long do I have to wait for the student if he/she does not show up after I already contacted the CS Team?

In the case of a student who does not attend the class even if you have contacted the CS Team, you are required to wait at least a total of 15 minutes and then leave the meeting and leave a “The student was absent” review of the class in the Review section.

10. What should I do if there are some technical problems during the class?

If you experience technical problems during the class, first of all, you have to keep calm and identify the problems. The problem may come from the weak internet connection, the out of laptop’s battery, and etc. In addition, you can try to reboot your computer and then start again. Your issue will probably be resolved by this easy trick. You can also give student exercises to practice while you are identifying problems so as not to waste time. The final method is to find the CS Team to support you on time and give the right solution.

11. How to make an interesting introduction video?

Firstly, you need to be well prepared for what you are going to say. Conducting a detailed script is suggested for a clear and attractive speech. Secondly, use any device that provides good video resolution, we highly recommend digital cameras as well as smartphones to film. Make sure you are filming in a good light condition with a clear background. After finishing filming, you have to review and edit your video to make it more professional and appealing by removing background noise, adding the effects as well as stickers.

12. Do LetTutor provide training?

No. There’s no training programs except for the small test after reading this Guideline Book which is offered by LetTutor. However, you can contact and get our support whenever you need, we can have some small meetings for you if you have a lot of questions to answer.
